It’s been a week of ups and downs that ended in a very good way.
After a couple of very intense days, my house is (mostly) clean. The deluge of clutter has been dealt with. There can be more simplifying done. More organizing. Yes.
But I’m looking around and seeing clear floors and horizontal surfaces. No more of this.
Or this.
Right now my halls are clear.
Right now I just have a little bit of debris from the afternoon birthday party.
And happy memories of children playing and everyone digging into cake and ice cream.
And instead of seeing one huge, colossal, insurmountable mess, I see a lovely home with some manageable organizing and decluttering projects that I can easily tackle. One at a time.
The getting there, that wasn’t so fun. It took a lot of shoveling. But the getting there was so worth it!
Not only because I could entertain my guests without an ounce of embarrassment.
But because I can look at my home and love it again. And managing the little jobs that are left doesn’t seem like such a big deal anymore.
I had been planning and planning and planning to do this. I had to just seize the day and DO IT to actually get it DONE! What a relief!
Looks great! I absolutely love all the wood. It is simply lovely.
