Tired of kiddies bouncing off the walls from sugar and artificial colors on Easter morning? Chocolate mustaches might be cute, but the hyperactivity and greedy gobbling that can come with them is definitely not.
In recent years, we’ve given our kids small gifts in their Easter baskets.
A box of sidewalk chalk.
A bottle of bubbles.
A small toy.
VTech has a number of things that will easily fit into even a very small basket…here’s a tip---keep your basket small and you won’t feel a need to fill it with tons of stuff.

InnoTab® Doc McStuffins software cartridge (Ages 4-7 years; MSRP: $24.99)
Learn reading, vocabulary, observation, logic, memory, math, visual skills, creativity, healthy living and more! Read a story about Lambie and Doc in an e-book, color in Doc's Big Book of Boo-Boos and play games with Doc and her friends.
InnoTab® Sofia the First software cartridge (Ages 3-6 years; MSRP: $24.99)
Seven learning games and two creative activities teach counting, colors, patterns, problem solving and more! Learn how Sofia becomes a princess in Story Mode with the interactive e-book. Take pictures with favorite characters and scenes (camera activity compatible with any InnoTab(r) system with a camera).
5-year-old Emma is gooving on the Sofia the 1st cartridge (note, this is only compatible with an InnoTab device). The e-book is kinda neat---you can click on the words to have them defined. The games are not particularly challenging for her---I would say she’s at the upper age limit for this particular set of apps---but she liked the princess theme. I think the Doc McStuffins cartridge will be a better fit.
Switch & Go Dinos® Turbo Assortment (Ages 3-8 years; MSRP: $9.99)
Kids can rev up the action with flywheels that let the dinos race and roar across the floor. Each dino also emits realistic vehicle and dinosaur sounds and phrases that teach fun facts about each dino. The range features six new dinos, including Dart the Triceratops, Zipp the T-Rex, Spur the Stegosaurus, Fray the Ankylosaurus, Cruz the Spinosaurus and Spinner the Stygimoloch.
Go! Go! Smart Wheels® Vehicles (Ages 1-5 years; MSRP: $7.99)
These electronic play vehicles are perfectly sized for little hands and entertain children with a light-up button that activates music and sounds. Little ones will also learn about different letters and vehicle names through pretend play.
The Dino Turbo® Switch & Go Ankylosaurus we received is perfect for little hands (shhh, don’t tell, but I plan to surprise my 3-year-old nephew with it this weekend) and has an awesome push motor that really goes.
Three easy steps convert it from a dinosaur to a truck. Even I can do it.
This is great for a 3-5 year-old. My 8-year-old thought it was cute, but it’s not something he would play with anymore.
As you can see, VTech has a variety of small toys available in different price ranges. You can find them at your local brick and mortar store or order directly from VTech.
