I was going to wait until the end of the week to start compiling the extras for our unit on Japan in Sonlight Core 5/F (Eastern Hemisphere), but there’s simply so much good stuff that it would get lost in one post!
I’m going to post things a bit at a time as we do things, and then later link to all the parts in a single post.
On Monday we learned about Bunraku, the art of puppetry that our current read aloud, The Master Puppeteer, centers around.
Ellen McHenry has a great pop-up Bunraku printable that your kiddos can color, cut out, and assemble.
What I love is the design allows it to fold flat, it’s a true pop-up, so it can be added to a portfolio rather than collecting dust on my counter.
Ellen includes links to some videos in her pdf instructions (note: the third link she gives is dead), but we also found this great Bunraku video that shows you how the puppets are operated. Really cool!
Tomorrow I’ll have more great resources FREE resources to add to your Japan study, including free notebooking pages!
