Ok, I had another brainstorm. Call me a weirdo, but somehow whenever I’m supposed to be doing something important like…oh, making lesson plans or making dinner…I come up with big ideas instead.
I wanted to do something special for you all this advent season as we wait in joyful hope to celebrate our Savior’s birth. So I’ve been thinking. And thinking.
I was thinking about doing a giveaway of some books I have.
Then I was feeling I needed a creative outlet, so I thought about giving away of some crafty type things I’ve made.
But I wanted to give you all something.
Then I had a better thought. How about sharing some of my crafty knowledge?
And doing a giveaway, of course. A special giveaway.
So, here’s what I have in mind. I’d like your input, so please comment!
For the week following Thanksgiving, I want to put together some tutorials for simple, inexpensive, high-quality craft projects you can make for your loved ones. We are all having to cut back these days and what better way to show someone how much you care for them this Christmas than to create something for them with your own two hands.
Maybe you’ll learn some new skills that you can use in the future. And I promise to include a couple that the kiddos can help with. I might even throw in some extra ideas I come across or think up in my brain. My talents: jewelry making, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, and general craftiness (in a good way).
Each day next week, I’ll also invite all of you to share with us your ideas for homemade Christmas gifts. You can blog about it and leave a link in the comments. Or link to something you saw elsewhere.
Alongside the tutorials, I’m thinking about posting a giveaway where the winner would receive the gifts I made while creating the tutorials…does that sound like a nice Christmas gift?
So, what do you think? Is this something you would be interested in? And is there something in particular you would like to see a tutorial for? I’m all ears.
