Relaxin’ with RelaxZen?

I’m no stranger to stress.  I’ve got 4 kiddos ages almost 2 on up to 10 with me nearly every minute of the day.  And the Zen moments seem to be few and far between these days…you know what I’m talking about, those times when everyone’s calm and everything seems to just come together and hums along without any hiccups?  Or at least without any screams or gnashing of teeth?

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could buy some Zen?

Maybe you can!

RelaxZen’s website claims it can:

  • Reduce stress and fatigue
  • Increase focus and alertness
  • Balance mood
  • Enhance productivity

Pretty bold claims.  But not so farfetched.  I’m a real believer that getting the right exercise and nutrition can have a real impact on your quality of life…it’s all about giving your body the fuel it needs, and a vitamin supplement can be a part of that.

Each RelaxZen Day Formula Shot contains:

  • 200% of the DV of Vitamins B6 & B12
  • a “Proprietary Relaxation Enhancing and Stress Reducing Blend” of Acai Extract, Passionflower Extract, GABA, L-Theanine, and L-Threonine
  • no calories, no fat, and no sugars

Each RelaxZen Night Formula Shot contains:

  • 200% of the DV of Vitamins B6 & B12, 100% of the DV of Pantothenic Acid
  • a “Proprietary Relaxation Enhancing and Stress Reducing Blend” of Chamomile Extract, GABA, L-Theanine, L-Threonine, Valerian Root Extract, and Melatonin
  • no calories, no fat, and no sugars

I received a sample each of the RelaxZen Day Formula and the Night Formula.  Both were berry flavored.  They actually taste pretty good, about like juice.  Pleasantly sweet, but not cloying.  Each shot is 2.5 fl. oz., so not a lot to drink. I like drinking my vitamins instead of swallowing a pill (I’ve got a strong gag reflex), so that’s a plus.

Did I feel more relaxed?  More focused?  More awake?  Um, well, no.  Not really.  It was a little easier for me to get up the morning after having used the Night Formula than it usually is.  I do think I slept a little better.  But, no, I wasn’t more relaxed or less stressed during the day.

Maybe I should have ohmmed a little?

But I wouldn’t expect an overnight miracle from any supplement, really.  These things usually take time.  Give it a week, maybe 10 days of every day use.  Maybe?  So, will I continue the experiment?   At $35+ for a 12-pack (price varies by vendor), RelaxZen is a bit too spendy for me to use long-term.  But it might be just the right thing for someone who needs to drink their supplements and wants to try this herb combo.

If you want to give it a try, is running a special right now.  Get 10% off and free shipping on RelaxZen products if you order before Jan. 31, 2011.  The promo code is: SMILE
